Washington, DC, July 7, 2021
Solar Sister Founder and CEO, Katherine Lucey, was included in Forbes 50 Women Over 50: Impact List produced in partnership with Mika Brzezinski’s Know Your Value initiative.
The “50 Over 50” list is a celebration of changemakers in politics, education, sports, law, and social entrepreneurship who, after the age of 50, are achieving great accomplishments and leading the way in impact on society.
With over 10,000 submissions for Forbes’ inaugural “50 Over 50” project, ForbesWomen editor Maggie McGrath shares why they expanded their list this summer to recognize an additional 50 women changing the world:
Every person on this list has a pay-it-forward mindset and is working to solve some of society’s biggest issues, including healthcare access for all, food security, rights for the differently-abled, and much more.
Katherine is honored as a woman creating social change at scale by bringing clean energy to communities in Africa through Solar Sister. Katherine expressed gratitude to be included among such an amazing group of women and explains that the honor is rightfully shared with the entire Solar Sister family,
Impact is a team sport. I may be the ‘over 50’ part of the equation, but the impact is all due to the women Solar Sister Entrepreneurs and our team that delivers every day with passion, grit, and grace.
