Rose Ilebaye Ocheni never met a stranger!

Her marketing strategy is simple,

“I am always with my products. I introduce them at any given opportunity, in the car, at parties, celebrations, meetings, and even in the hospital.”

Rose smiles.

“One day, a woman who sells other solar products came to see me and bought six Sunking Pico lights. She complained that people were no longer buying her products, so she had to buy some from me.”

Rose, 37, married with two children, lives near the city of Lokoja, and used to work at one of the large hotels there. Lokoja lies at the confluence of the Niger and Benue rivers and is the capital of Kogi State in Nigeria.

Entrepreneurship fits Rose to a T. Rose likes making her own hours and plans to open a shop to display the Sunking products that she sells.

“Apart from the door-to-door calls, there is not much stress. No work timing; you go out and come in at your time. Any reasonable woman can do the work.”

Rose says that most of her customers are women who need the light to do their work at night and early in the morning. They are happy because they can save money without buying batteries any longer. And the products are durable. The Sunking Pico light (link here) is their favorite because you can regulate the brightness.

Besides choosing her working hours, Rose is pleased she can take care of most of her bills with ease, and she is becoming well known because of her products.

“Working with Solar Sister, I look forward to building capital to expand my business, buying more products, and involving my other family members, especially my daughter and sister.”
