Solar Sister Welcomes Roberta Boscolo to its Board of Directors

Solar Sister announced today that Roberta Boscolo has joined the organization’s Board of Directors. As the Climate and Energy Lead at the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), Ms.Boscolo has over 20 years of experience managing a multi-million-dollar portfolio of adaptation and mitigation projects to develop climate services for the Water-Energy-Food nexus in Africa, South America, the Pacific, and Southeast Asia. She leverages her expertise in climate science and policy to enhance the capacity of all countries to address climate change and enact a sustainable development agenda, in alignment with the global landmark agreements.

Ms. Boscolo also leads the Climate and Energy programme at WMO, developing weather, water, and climate services for energy resilience, efficiency, and renewable energy. She builds and manages transformative initiatives at the interface between climate science and socio-economic sectors, especially the energy sector, through strategic partnerships with international energy organizations, public and private sectors, academia, civil society, media groups, and associations. Ms. Boscolo is passionate about adding value to transformative solutions for a resilient, low-carbon energy for all, and has been recognized as a top 10 Sustainability Influencer, Global 50 Women in Sustainability (2023), LinkedIn Top Voice since 2022, and a 2025 nominee for the LUCE Awards for Legacy Women.

Current Advisory roles include:

– Member of the Expert Advisory Panel of the Earthshot Prize, providing strategic guidance to identify and champion the world’s most innovative climate solutions.

– Member of the Bureau of Experts on Renewable Energy of the UN Economic Commission for Europe, fostering integration of climate data into energy decision-making to increase the share of renewable energy in the regional energy mix

– Member of the Advisory Board of the World Energy and Meteorology Council, spearheading collaboration between climate science and the energy industry.

– A Grand Jury Member of the Big Syn International Film Festival (BSIFF) 2024, evaluating outstanding films promoting climate awareness and sustainability.
