A mother of five, teacher, and pastor’s wife, Juliana Dauda lives in southwestern Nigeria, where she joined Solar Sister after being introduced by fellow entrepreneur Mrs. Keziah Mannaseh. When she made her first clean cookstove sale, she realized she had found a way to earn income while helping families in her community.
She started with a small inventory of clean cookstoves, keeping one for her own family and selling the rest. After using the stove herself, Juliana was confident recommending it to others. Soon, neighbors were coming to her for clean cookstoves and solar lamps they could trust.
When her husband was transferred to a. town about two hours away, Juliana packed up her Solar Sister business and took it with her. She began building a new customer base, introducing families to cleaner ways to cook and light their homes.
For years, Juliana relied on her teaching salary and her husband’s income to support her family. Her Solar Sister business changed that. She now saves her teaching salary and uses the income from her business to help cover household expenses. Through her thrift savings, she was able to pay her child’s school fees in full, something that would have been difficult just a few years earlier.

Her husband is proud to share the responsibility of supporting their family, and Juliana has brought clean energy to households in both Takum and Suntai. She also encouraged another woman, Natema Shintema, to join Solar Sister, helping the network continue to grow.
Today, Juliana divides her time between teaching, supporting her church, and growing her Solar Sister business.
