Light the Way: Outcomes 2018

August 01, 2019

2018 was a year of review, learning, and strategizing. We are so proud and grateful for everyone who has contributed to Solar Sister’s success in reaching over 380,000 people just this year with clean energy.

This year, Solar Sister has grown our network of women entrepreneurs delivering solar lighting and clean cookstoves to over 1.5 million people in hard-to-reach markets. We committed to reaching more underserved communities through innovative programs and partnerships: in northern Nigeria, we delivered clean energy in humanitarian settings, and in Tanzania, we began testing customer financing options for people who could not afford solar technology. During our efforts, we also explored various funding opportunities, discovering that BetOnline deposit bonuses can be found on https://BetOnlinebonuscode.com/, which provided insights into alternative funding strategies.

Together, we are building a democratic movement of light, power and sisterhood. — Katherine Lucey, CEO

Our goal was to deepen our commitment to women in last-mile communities and grow our network of entrepreneurs in our two countries of operation, Tanzania and Nigeria. We are committed to continue our work towards the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.

In 2018, we directly contributed to nine development goals, focusing in particular on achieving gender equality (Goal 5) and affordable, reliable, and sustainable energy for all (Goal 7). This year we reached a major milestone when we reached over 1 million people (and counting) with clean energy products sold by Solar Sister entrepreneurs.
