Across Africa, Solar Sister entrepreneurs are driving the clean energy transition from the last mile outward, building businesses, strengthening communities, and expanding access to life-changing technology. With the right training, tools, and support, these women are doing far more than lighting homes. They are creating income, improving health, and opening new opportunities for their families and neighbors.
2025 marked a defining year, one of transition, reflection, and renewed momentum under leadership rooted in the communities we serve. Our entrepreneurs remain at the center of this progress, proving every day that when women have access to opportunity, they lead lasting change.
Our impact continues to grow. By the close of 2025, Solar Sister reached more than 5.8 million people, supported over 12,500 women entrepreneurs, and distributed more than 1 million clean energy products. Beyond the numbers, the results are visible every day: children studying after dark, businesses staying open longer, families saving money, and women launching new ventures using the skills and confidence gained through our programs.
In 2025, our comprehensive support model reached 3,752 entrepreneurs through ongoing training, mentorship, and access to technical and business tools. These efforts enabled the distribution of 149,098 clean energy products, with growing demand for larger solar systems and clean cooking solutions—especially when paired with flexible financing options.
