Faith Omekwe, " Solar Sister gives everyone light, hope, and opportunity."

August 10, 2023

Faith Omekwe is a proud Solar Sister Entrepreneur based in South-South Nigeria just northwest of Port Harcourt. Together with her husband, George Lakeme Gentle, they often collaborate when he is not plying his trade as a photographer.

Their journey began two years ago, shortly after they were married. Having just wrapped up her exams and a baby on the way, Faith was searching for meaningful work. George introduced her to Solar Sister.

With time and dedication, Faith has nurtured and expanded her business, gradually laying down its foundation. She especially values the financial management training provided by Solar Sister. In front of their home, Faith sets up samples for any curious passerby.

“As a Solar Sister Entrepreneur, I have seen positive impacts on customers’ lives and mine. Solar Sister gives light, hope, and opportunity to everyone.”

Yet, she finds the busy environment of the market the most rewarding place for her products. While George primarily focuses on his photography business, he often collaborates with Faith, especially when going to the market. Their trips to the market see them riding together on their motorbike, with George as her companion. On days when their schedules don’t align, Faith, ever-independent, hops in a keke tricycle to make the journey alone.

Now, at twenty-six, Faith envisions a prosperous future for her family that doesn’t lean on government jobs. The couple cherishes the autonomy their businesses provide and the bonus of spending quality time with their son, Abraham, who is growing fast at a year and nine months old.
