Elizabeth Ogano has always enjoyed selling. She was selling electronic products when she met a sales agent from Solar Sister. She was impressed by the stove she showed her, so she asked about working with Solar Sister at their office in Nairobi, Kenya, where she lives.
Right away, Elizabeth was impressed with the training offered by Solar Sister.
“Even though I have been selling for other companies,” she says, “The training has helped me to improve my selling techniques. I have also learned how to relate to my customers better.”
Elizabeth especially likes that she can choose where she sells. The other companies she has worked with restricted her locations, and she prefers the flexibility that Solar Sister offers.
Separated from her husband, Elizabeth is the sole support source for Havillah, her three-year-old son. Her short-term goal is to care for her son and give him a good education. One day she’d like to open a shop of her own selling auto parts and later buy land to build rental property.
Elizabeth prefers meeting her customers one-on-one, so going door-to-door is her favorite technique. She likes following up with those customers and seeing how the stove works for them.
“I like selling so much. It’s sort of a hobby. I even sell milk after work, buying from local vendors.”
